Green Principles
We will raise awareness with our employees regarding protecting the environment and give clear guidance on how they can assist the operation in minimizing the Inn's environmental impact. We will also encourage our employees to practice this philosophy outside of the hotel.
We will always aim to exceed any environmental legislation. We have a genuine desire to protect our environment.
We will seek to gain support from our customers, contractors and suppliers to ensure that they are made aware of our environmental policy.
We will be committed to conserve natural resources by ensuring the responsible use of energy, water, waste and raw materials.
We will actively encourage engagement with the local community on environmental awareness.
Green Methods
We recycle fluorescent light bulbs, paper, cardboard, toner and ink jet cartridges.
We have eliminated 95% of the use of Styrofoam throughout the Inn.
We have adopted a water conservation policy for guest room laundry.
We use compact fluorescent light bulbs in most guest rooms applications and wherever possible.
We use environmentally friendly, non toxic cleaning products (such as Seventh Generation, Method, Bon Ami) throughout the rooms and cabins.
We use recycled paper products ( such as Seventh Generation) for toilet paper and paper towels.
Cleaning staff uses microfiber cloth, instead of paper towel for 90% of cleaning.
We have adopted a policy of 'green procurement', taking environmental factors into account in all purchasing and supplier contracts.
We have implemented a sensible recycling program. Both Inns recycle all back of house materials and provides in room recycling for guests. Staff then takes all recyclables to the Brown County recycling center. Paints, Solvents and Appliances are separated and safely disposed of at the Brown County Highway Department in Nashville.
During our on going renovation, we have donated or recycled over 85% of all removed building materials to the local Habitat for Humanity and Goodwill locations.
We have sourced environmentally friendly products such as Interface flooring carpet which is 100% recyclable carpet made without toxic chemicals and Non VOC paints from Sherwin Williams.
We purchase locally and in bulk as often as feasible.
